Changing your internet auto disconnect

This page last updated on 11/21/06 Support Home Page

When I'm playing games on the net I continually get messages to the effect of "line has been idle for (x) minutes," and unless I click the stay connected button I get disconnected.  What can I do to prevent this from happening?

Step 1:  Open Internet Options

Right Click on the "Internet Explorer" icon and then left click on "Properties."

Open Internet Options

Step 2:  Connection Properties

Click on the "Connection" tab.

Step 3:  Connection Settings

Click on the "Settings" button.

Step 4:  Disconnect if idle

On this page you will find a checkbox titled "Disconnect if idle for."   Beside the checkbox is another windows where you can specify the length of time that you want your internet connection to stay connected, without any activity.   Uncheck this box if you want to discontinue the idle monitoring.

Another option is to come into the office by Embe Bakery and get a CD which has our new connection software.
