Change the dial-up number in Dial-up Networking Windows 95/98

The following instructions detail explicitly how to change the Dial-Up Networking configuration in Windows 95/98 to dial our 56k dial-up lines. They do not, however, configure your modem in any respect, or insure that your modem is using the correct 56k standard. These instructions also assume that you are already connected to Imagen successfully using our 33.6 dial-up lines.

Connection ManagerIf you have an Imagen icon on your desktop that looks like the one to the right, please click - here - to view the 95/98 Connection Manager instructions.

Step 1. Start up your computer and Windows 95/98. Wait until your see your desktop and locate the My Computer icon (shown as an example to the right). Double-click the My Computer icon. Dial-Up Networking

 

 

Step 2. Locate the Dial-Up Networking icon. Double-click Dial-Up Networking.

Step 3. Locate the Imagen icon. Right-click Imagen. A small menu should drop down that looks similar to the one on the example to the right. Left-click Properties.

Step 4. Locate the Telephone number: field. Left-click at the end of the Telephone number: field, and completely backspace the phone number that currently resides there.

Step 5. Enter 537-4163 in the Telephone number: field. The window should now look like the example to the right. Left-click OK. Close all open windows on the screen and restart your computer.

Your computer is now configured to dial our 56k dial-up lines.
